TRACTATUS ENSAMBLE

It is a musical proposal where the main element is the free improvisation and performance on rhythmic and harmonic patterns from the llanero folklore. Tractatus Assembly creates its sound thanks to the experience and contribution of each of its members. This project is led by the bassist Mario Criales who after his return to the country, after being awarded a scholarship to study concepts of re-harmonization and methodology on Latin rhythms in Boston, Massachusetts (United States), under the guidance of the master Oscar Stagnaro (creator of the Latin Bass Book), decides to formally give life to the Assembly.

Tractatus Ensemble has had the opportunity to travel to the mother land of llanero folklore, and has been the winner of several awards such as: Silbón de Plata for Best bassist in Guanare, Venezuela; Silbón de Bronce as a group in Guanare, Venezuela; Best cuatrista at the “Festival del Retorno Acacías” 2011, Colombia; Best Set and Best harpist for two consecutive years at the “Festival del Retorno Acacías” (2011 and 2012).

They were also winners of the IDARTES call to participate at the “Colombia al Parque” Festival in 2013, earning the first place; on the other hand,  they received the second place as best ensemble at the International Tournament of Joropo in the city of Villavicencio (Meta). They were selected to perform at the Teatro Libre’s International Jazz Festival as well as the International Festival “Latinoamérica de Concierto”
