The Q-ARTE Quartet emerged as part of the project of artistic research "Latin-American Chamber Music", attached to the  creative workshop of the Faculty of Arts of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (National University of Colombia); It is formed by four professors from the university’s Conservatory of music: Juan Carlos Higuita (violin), Liz García (violin), Sandra Arango (viola) and Diego García (cello), who after having completed their studies in Europe and the United States are interested in the knowledge and dissemination of the Latin American music written for String Quartet, focusing mainly on contemporary domestic composers and in the exploration of new sounds and scenic profiles.
